About Your Best Shot Photography
About Us:
We live in Richmond; Texas and been married for 36 years. We are Blessed with 2 Sons and 4 beautiful Granddaughters. Our favorite things to do is to spend time with our family and friends along with our love for animals especially our dogs Chloe & Lily which are very spoiled. We love to spend time together watching movies, taking walks and travel so we can take photos. We feel very Blessed to have each other, find our passion for photography we have always loved and turned it into a successful photography business.
We started the full-service photography company in 2006. We specialize in Portraits, Weddings and Events, Photobooths and Photo Restoration. We started first taking sports photos, High School Seniors and Weddings portraits. In 2011, we decided to expand our business to include our fun and exciting photo booths services along with event photography with printing on site photos. This has been so exciting to be able to bring so much laughter and silly times at the events. Everyone leaves the party having a blast with the props and photobooth and get the take home and hang the photos on their refrigerator or their desk to remember the event by.
We are members of the Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographer Guild of Houston, Texas Professional Photographers Association. We are also members of Visit Houston & Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. we discovered we really enjoyed working and networking within the Corporate industry. We had the opportunity to work with Corporations coming in town and capture all the details of their conferences, speakers, parties. We love to create Corporate headshots for all their marketing materials.
In 2020, We have been staying home like everyone else is doing. We started looking through and finding incredible photos in photo albums and closets that were faded torn and had stories & memories of the past. We were so sad and upset that we decided to restore them, and we were excited and amazed that some of them now look are even better than before. We figured like us so many others might have faded, torn, creased photos like ours and might want to restore them too. So now we expanded our services to offer photo restoration and scanning photos, negatives & slides to help you restore your photos and bring life back into your treasured and memorable photos.
We only use the most updated and current camera Nikon equipment. We only use the highest quality archival photo paper to print from our photography lab to give all of clients the best quality portraits, gifts, and photo albums to last a lifetime and generations to come. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality products and services.
We are grateful and honored to be a part of all our clients lives that trust us to capture all their special moments in their life and to create treasured portraits that will be in their families to enjoy and love for generations to come. So many clients are repeat ones and are not just our clients but more like family to us. What is most important to us is to have everyone 100% satisfied with our services and thrilled with their portraits.

Roger grew up in Connecticut and has always had passion for photography began as a child being the youngest coming from a family of 5 children, he became the family photographer using a Polaroid instant camera. I remember how cool it was to have a picture instantaneously and I love the whole process and creativity. It was almost like digital photography like today, instantaneous pictures in electronic format. Roger has studied photography at the New York School of Photography.
Sheryl is born and raised in Houston, Texas from a family of 3 children. She is always outgoing and personable. Her specialty is to create an environment for clients to feel comfortable and relaxed to pose them while having their photos taken. Tips on Preparing To Take A Business Head Shot
Are you about to have a professional portrait created for you? Follow these simple tips & instructions to ensure your finished business head shot makes you look like a million bucks!
Your head shot is how you create a first impression with a potential client. Indeed, a business head shot could be a customer’s deciding factor to do business. Your head shot is representative of your best “you” and will speak volumes about your professionalism and your business.
Clothing is an extremely important factor in your finished portrait, but it is not the focus. The focus is your face. With proper clothing, your face will command attention and the clothing will become secondary. Wearing the wrong clothing takes attention away from where you want it – on you and your face.
Keep things simple. Bring a comb or brush as we will not be providing one.
Deep Colors
For a traditional, conservative business portrait which conveys success, we suggest deep colors such as black, navy blues and grays. Remember, the darker the color, the more professional your finished portrait will look, not to mention the fact darker colors are more slimming.
Men Daily Beard Growth
For men, it is best to schedule your shoot in the morning hours to avoid an afternoon shadow. Men, if your appointment is in the morning, shave earlier in the day to let any razor burn dissipate and to allow any nicks to heal.
Patterns Are Discouraged
Overly busy patters are bad, be it a jacket, shirt/blouse. Bright or busy jackets, shirts or blouses will distract the viewers eye from the face in a finished portrait. Shirt and blouses will sometimes need to be retouched due to a wrinkle in the fabric, and patterns on that fabric. The focus and purpose are seeing your face not to focus on your clothing.
Necklace
For the women, should you want to wear a necklace or any jewelry, think about bringing multiple options and your photographer can give you his or her opinion as to what will work best for your portrait.
Multiple Ties
For men, please feel free to bring multiple tie selections. Your photographer will be able to tell you which one will work best with your skin tone and ensemble.
Slimming Down
Remember the following when dressing for a slimming effect:
- Darker colors are slimming; light colors are not.
- Solid colors are slimming; bold patters will expose shape.
- A single color from head to toe (i.e. a suit) is slimming.
- Vertical lines are slimming; horizontal lines are not.
- The V-neck shape is slimming. This is achieved by the cut of a sport coat, jacket, blouse, shirt, or sweater.
- Single-breasted jackets are more slimming than double-breasted.
Tailored and Wrinkle Free Clothing
Make sure your clothing is well tailored and wrinkle free. It will be plainly obvious if both your shirt and/or jacket do not fit in your finished portrait. Men make sure you can comfortably button the top button of your dress shirt.
Manicured
For men and women, if you plan on having a full-length portrait created, then your hands may appear in your finished portrait. Please make sure your nails are freshly manicured.
No Short Sleeves
For men and women, it is best not to wear something sleeveless or short sleeves. This may cause you to look heavier, and bright arms will lead the viewer’s eyes to the bottom edges of your image and away from your face.
Belts
For women wanting a full-length portrait, try to avoid wide belts. If wearing a belt, make sure it is a darker color, again to slim the waistline and to keep the viewer’s attention to your face.
Hair
Men should have their haircut about 1 week before the photo session. Women should be photographed whenever they are happiest with their hair in relation to the time it is styled.
Glasses
If you wear glasses most of the time, then we recommend you wear them for your portrait. For best results, consider bringing an extra frame with no lenses. However, we can light your portrait in ways which will attempt to avoid glass glare. And if avoiding glass glare is impossible, then our retouch artist will digitally remove the glare providing you with the best results possible.
Get Some Rest
Make sure you are well rested before your portrait session. Try to get a good night’s sleep the night before. Dark circles and puffy blood shot eyes can be retouched in photo shop, but nothing is going to beat a fresh you.
Practice
And finally, practice smiling the night before. For many it can be difficult to smile on command. We will make you feel relaxed so no worries. Smile from within!
